Mridula George Ice Breaker Interview

Mridula George has joined Motivate Val Morgan as our new Marketing Assistant, bringing with her a Master’s degree in International Business from the University of Wollongong, Dubai, and over 2 years of marketing and content creation experience in the UAE.

To help everyone get to know Mridula better, we asked her our signature cinema-themed ice breaker questions. Here’s what she had to say:

Q: If you could describe yourself as a movie character, who would that be and why?

I’d be Sally from Cars, a mix of adventure and thoughtfulness, with a genuine care for the people around me. I like moving fast when needed, but I try to stay patient and enjoy the ride. Plus, I have a knack for being practical while sneaking in a little wit, just like Sally navigating Radiator Springs.

Q: What’s one superhero power you would rely on at work to handle deadlines?

Time manipulation, for sure. Slowing down the tricky moments or speeding up the repetitive ones, making everything feel a bit easier without feeling rushed. And honestly, I’d probably use it to remember to drink water, I can go way too long without it! (20 hours is my record)

Q: If your career journey were a movie, what genre would it be and who would play you in the film?

It would be a suspenseful thriller with funny moments sprinkled in (heavily). I like to dive in headfirst, even if that sometimes means making silly mistakes while trying to do everything myself. I celebrate every small win and milestone, giving myself a little cheer along the way. I entertain myself amidst the chaos, finding humor in the messy parts, and always make sure to give myself main character energy. If this were a movie, I’d happily play the role of myself, full of determination, humor, and a little bit of lovable chaos.

Q: Tell us about your favourite movies and favourite quote.

I love Coco, Finding Nemo, and Tangled because I see parts of myself in the characters. Like Miguel in Coco, I’m driven by the urge to chase what matters to me, even if the path is tricky. Like Marlin in Finding Nemo, I can be cautious and a little overthinking, but I push through challenges with patience and care. And like Rapunzel in Tangled, I love finding joy and humor in unexpected moments, even when life feels messy. These movies remind me that even amidst chaos, there’s always a bit of magic and meaning waiting to show up. My favourite quote: “Everything happens for a reason. You will see it eventually.” It’s a good reminder to trust the process.

Q: If our office were a movie set, what role would you love to play in the production? (director, comedian, tech whiz, etc.)?

I’d be the one who keeps things running smoothly while keeping the mood light. Organizing, solving problems, helping the team stay on track, and tossing in a sarcastic comment here and there, that’s my vibe. And yes, I’d eventually remember to drink water.

Q: What’s the most underrated movie you think everyone on the team should watch?

21 Jump Street is pure chaos in the best way. It’s smart, hilarious, and full of twists you never see coming. It’s the kind of movie that makes you laugh out loud while secretly admiring how the team handles everything thrown at them.
