Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity

The Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity is a global event focused on inspiration and education. It is also the largest gathering of advertising professionals, designers, digital innovators and marketers, as well as the most prestigious advertising awards – with winning a ‘Lion’ being the benchmark of excellence in creative communications.

Each year, over 8,000 delegates from advertising and allied industries attend the event to celebrate the crème de la crème of creativity across all major media categories, discuss industry trends and network.

Over 16,000 ads from around the world are showcased at the festival, and high-profile seminars – organized by some of the biggest names in the industry, are presented

Winning companies and advertising agencies receive the highly coveted ‘Lion’ – honouring the most creative Film, Print, Outdoor and Online adverting, as well as the best in Media and Direct Marketing solutions.

Creative teams (comprising a copywriter and art director aged 31 years and below) from a registered creative communications/advertising/digital agency in the UAE, or part of a creative team from the client-side, compete for the chance to represent the UAE in the Digital category at the International Young Lions Competition

*Freelance teams based in the UAE will also be eligible to participate in this competition

Each year, Motivate Val Morgan nominates one student enrolled at a UAE University (majoring in: advertising/marketing/communications) to attend the Roger Hatchuel Academy in Cannes.

The student follows an intensive schedule of activities during the Festival week, under the guidance of course tutor Clive Challis – Head of the Advertising Course at Central Saint Martins, London.

Alongside these exclusive sessions, the student also gains full access to attend the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity.

An annual event hosted by Motivate and Motivate Val Morgan to honour the UAE agencies who win awards at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity.

Dubai Lynx Festival

Dubai Lynx

The Dubai Lynx Festival is MENA’s annual must-attend event for the creative communications industry to learn, network and be inspired.

Dubai Lynx is part of Ascential Events (Europe) Limited, organisers of Cannes Lions, Spikes Asia, Eurobest and the Asian Marketing Effectiveness and Strategy Awards. The Festival and Awards are produced in partnership with Motivate Media Group, with the support of Dubai Media City (DMC) and in association with the UAE Chapter of the International Advertising Association (IAA).

Global Cinema Advertising Association (SAWA)

SAWA is the global trade body of Cinema Advertising Companies and Associated Companies that supply services to the Cinema Advertising Industry.

SAWA was established over 60 years ago and now represents the Cinema advertising medium in 35 countries with over 75 members. The membership body is made up of Cinema advertising companies who sell the medium of Cinema, research companies that analyse and collect data on behalf of the medium and technology companies who supply products and services to the business.

The role of SAWA is to develop international standards and best practice for the Cinema medium and to improve communication between Cinema Advertising Companies around the world. This facilitates the easier buying of the Cinema medium for Advertisers and Agencies.
