Saudi Tourism recently booked two off screen cinema advertising campaigns – through PHD, across the Motivate Val Morgan regional circuit.
The first wave of the campaign commenced in December 2021 across multiple VOX Cinema locations in UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait and Oman, and Reel Cinemas – The Dubai Mall in UAE. The second wave commenced in February 2022 across multiple Muvi, AMC and VOX cinema locations, and Cinépolis –Jameah Plaza in Saudi Arabia.
The campaign covered a variety of digital screens across the cinemas, which included digital pillars, hero screens, entrance lightboxes and main trailer screens.

BBC Earth recently booked a 4 week on-screen campaign through Motivate Val Morgan – an audio and visual storytelling ad, making it cinematic and memorable in every sense.

The on-screen component of the campaign included a 60 sec. commercial booked for a period of 8 weeks (1st December 2020 to 25th January 2021) at the following cinemas:

Mubadala launches a cinema campaign to celebrate UAE National Day
United Arab Emirates will celebrate 49 glorious years as a nation on 2nd December 2020. UAE National Day is one of the most celebrated days in the country as it marks the anniversary of the federal unification of the seven emirates (Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Umm al Quwain and Fujairah).
In celebration and honour of the nation’s leadership, history, values and progress, Mubadala booked a 60 sec. on-screen ad campaign through Motivate Val Morgan to screen across multiple locations in the UAE from 24th November – 14th December 2020.

As part of the latest offering by cinema exhibitors in the UAE – in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Reel Cinemas has launched its latest drive-in cinema in Abu Dhabi, brining the total count to five drive-ins across the UAE.
Reel Cinemas launched its third drive-in cinema at the Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi on Thursday 9th July 2020, and will screen movies three nights a week on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 7:45pm. The entrance to the drive-in cinema is located at Yas Marina Circuit’s East Gate.
The cinema accommodates 63 cars, with a limit of up to five people per vehicle if family or up to three if not. Tickets are priced Dh160 per car, and includes a food and drinks package (popcorn, soft drinks, water and chocolate). Extra snacks can be ordered from inside the car, by alerting staff using the hazard lights.
Upon entry, guests will have their temperatures checked, before being directed to a specific parking spot. Visitors are requested to remain in their vehicles at all times, with the exception of using the toilets. Wearing of facemasks are mandatory if windows are lowered to speak to event staff, or when leaving the car.
Reel Cinemas launched its first drive-in experience at The Dubai Mall in late May, followed by another in Dubai Hills Estate in the fourth week of June – both launching after VOX Cinemas’ drive in at Dubai’s Mall of the Emirates, and the announcement by Urban Entertainment of a free drive-in cinema in Sharjah at Madar – Aljada (which opened to the public on Wednesday 1st July 2020).

Drive-in cinemas have made a huge comeback (globally) amid the COVID-19 pandemic, and with the launch of the second drive-in experience by Reel Cinemas at Dubai Hills Estate, Dubai is now home to three drive-in cinemas.
Following the launch of its first drive-in cinema at The Dubai Mall (Zabeel extension), Reel Cinemas opened its second drive-in on Thursday 25 June, 2020 at The Dubai Hills Estate – located between Mulberry 2 and Central Park in the residential area.
The cinema accommodates 100 cars, and similar to its first drive-in cinema at The Dubai Mall, tickets are priced at Dhs170 per car, with food and drinks included as a combo meal for two.
This drive-in cinema will place emphasis on showing family-friendly blockbusters, with one screening taking place each night at 8pm.

Dubai’ welcomes its second drive-in cinema with the launch of Reel’s – The Dubai Mall Zabeel experience.
Reel Cinemas launched its drive-in cinema at The Dubai Mall on Saturday 30th May, 2020.
Located at the rooftop parking space of the mall’s Zabeel extension, the latest addition to Reel’s portfolio allows moviegoers in Dubai to watch films on the big screen – with the iconic Burj Khalifa and the city’s skyline in the background, while adhering to social distancing rules and guidelines. The movie can be heard by tuning car radios to a set FM frequency of 88.3.
The cinema accommodates 70 cars, with allocated parking arranged based on the car size for an optimum viewing experience for all. Only two people per car are allowed and ticket bookings have to be made via the Reel Cinemas website. Age restrictions do apply, with anyone under 12 years and over 60 unable to attend for now.
Tickets cost Dh170 per car, and include a food and beverage package for two people, which consist of one cheese popcorn, one salted popcorn, one regular nachos, two chocolate bars, two soft drinks and two water bottles. Food carts are also available for those who wish to make additional food orders.
Earlier in May, VOX Cinemas launched its drive-in experience at Mall of the Emirates.
The revival of the drive-in cinema concept – which has also seen an upswing in the US and Europe, offers movie lovers a safe way to engage in one of their favorite pastimes during these unprecedented times, whilst maintaining social distancing and enjoying a bucket of popcorn.

Samsung – South Korean multinational electronics company, recently completed 10 years since the launch of its Galaxy S series, and to celebrate this joyful occasion, the brand presented their most recently launched flagship smartphone – Galaxy S10, to select people at various locations across the UAE.
As part of this celebration, an integrated cinema campaign was booked through Motivate Val Morgan, which included an exciting and engaging cinema activation (or as we like to call it – ‘Cinevation’) and a 30 sec. on-screen ‘special position’ advertisement.
Cinevation:
Booked through Cheil, the Cinevation was executed on Friday 1st March 2019 at VOX Cinemas – Yas Mall in Abu Dhabi (6:30 movie session) and Mall of the Emirates in Dubai (7:50pm movie session) – alongside ‘Fighting with my family’ starring Dwayne Johnson and Florence Pugh, and was one of many activations executed by Samsung across the UAE. Other touchpoints included Dubai Football Club, Gemayze, UFC Gym, Carrefour, Knowledge Park and The Dubai Mall.
On-screen advertisement:
In addition to the Cinevation, a ‘special position’ on-screen ad – booked through Starcom MediaVest Group, screened for a period of 4 weeks from 14th February 2019 at VOX Cinemas – Yas Mall (Abu Dhabi), Mall of the Emirates (Dubai) and City Centre Mirdif (Dubai), and Reel Cinemas – The Dubai Mall and Dubai Marina Mall.

Wego – travel search website and mobile application, recently booked a cinema campaign (in collaboration with VisitBritain) through Motivate Val Morgan at Reel Cinemas (UAE), VOX Cinemas (KSA) and AMC Cinemas (KSA).
An engaging off-screen ‘Foyer Display’ embedded with augmented reality technology was installed at Reel Cinemas – The Dubai Mall in UAE from Wednesday 27th February to Thursday 5th March 2019.
Technique:
When a cinemagoer stands in front of the screen, the image of the cinemagoer, together with a background of one of Britain’s most iconic sites (Buckingham Palace, Big ben, etc.) would display on the screen.
Objective:
To encourage cinemagoers to search, compare and book a trip to Britain through Wego.
A similar display was also set up at VOX Cinemas – Riyadh Park Mall in Saudi Arabia from Monday 11th March to Sunday 17th March 2019.
Additionally, two Arabic on-screen ads were booked to screen at VOX Cinemas – Riyadh Park Mall and Red Sea Mall (Jeddah) and AMC Cinemas – KAFD (Riyadh) from Thursday 14th March to Wednesday 20th March 2019.
The first ad – which screened for a period of 3 days, features two female actors posting a video of themselves against the backdrop of one of the most cherished British icons – the Big Ben.
The second ad – which screened for a period of 4 days, features a male actor driving along Britain’s countryside when his friend unexpectedly appears by the side of his window.
